These terms govern your use of the Nippon Predict website and forecast services. By using our site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site.

1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Nippon Predict LLC ("Nippon Predict," "we," "us," or "our"), a Washington State limited liability company with its principal place of business at 1918 8th Ave, Suite 400, Seattle, WA 98101, USA. These Terms govern your access to and use of the Nippon Predict website (nipponpredict.com), including all content, services, and forecast data available through the site.
By accessing or using the website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the website on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the website.
2. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and post a notice on the homepage. Your continued use of the website after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using the website.
3. Description of Services
Nippon Predict provides weather forecast information for Tokyo, Japan, with a focus on microclimate variations across different districts and wards. Our services include: current weather conditions aggregated from third-party meteorological data providers; hourly temperature, precipitation, and wind forecasts for specific locations within Tokyo; analytical content explaining Tokyo's microclimate patterns; and related meteorological information.
We obtain our weather data from the Open-Meteo API, which sources from the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) Meso-Scale Model, ECMWF IFS ensemble data, and other meteorological models. We apply our own spatial correction algorithms to improve district-level accuracy, but the underlying data remains sourced from these third-party providers.
4. Accuracy and Limitations of Forecasts
WEATHER FORECASTING IS INHERENTLY UNCERTAIN. While we strive to provide accurate and useful forecasts, we cannot and do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any forecast data provided through our website.
Our temperature predictions for the next 24 hours are within ±1.5°C approximately 78% of the time. Our rain timing predictions are within ±2 hours approximately 65% of the time. These accuracy figures are based on our internal verification against JMA observation data and represent historical performance, not a guarantee of future accuracy.
YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOU USE OUR FORECAST DATA AT YOUR OWN RISK. Nippon Predict shall not be liable for any decisions made or actions taken based on our forecast data, including but not limited to: decisions about outdoor activities, travel plans, event scheduling, business operations, or safety precautions. Always exercise independent judgment and consult official meteorological services for critical decisions.
5. Not an Official Meteorological Service
Nippon Predict is a private weather information service. We are not affiliated with the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the National Weather Service, or any government meteorological organization. Our forecasts are derived from publicly available model output and should be considered supplementary to, not a replacement for, official forecasts and warnings.
For severe weather warnings, typhoon alerts, and other critical meteorological information, always consult the Japan Meteorological Agency (jma.go.jp) or your local meteorological office. Do not rely solely on Nippon Predict for safety-critical weather information.
6. Permitted Use
You may use the website and its content for personal, non-commercial purposes. This includes checking forecasts for your own activities, sharing forecast links with others, and printing pages for personal reference. You may not: scrape, harvest, or systematically collect data from the website using automated means; resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit our forecast data without a written license agreement; use our data to create a competing weather service; interfere with the proper functioning of the website; or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or data.

7. Intellectual Property
All content on the Nippon Predict website, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, data compilations, and software, is the property of Nippon Predict LLC or its content suppliers and is protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
The compilation of all content on this site is the exclusive property of Nippon Predict LLC and is protected by U.S. and international copyright laws. Our SVG prediction band visualizations, district-specific correction algorithms, and analytical content are original creative works that we have developed through significant effort and expertise.
You may not reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, visit, or otherwise exploit our website or any portion thereof for any commercial purpose without express written consent from us. You may not frame or utilize framing techniques to enclose any trademark, logo, or other proprietary information without our express written consent.
8. User Conduct
You agree not to use the website: in any way that violates any applicable federal, state, local, or international law or regulation; to transmit, or procure the sending of, any advertising or promotional material, including any "junk mail," "chain letter," "spam," or any other similar solicitation; to impersonate or attempt to impersonate Nippon Predict, a Nippon Predict employee, another user, or any other person or entity; to engage in any other conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use or enjoyment of the website, or which may harm Nippon Predict or users of the website; or to attempt to gain unauthorized access to, interfere with, damage, or disrupt any parts of the website, the server on which the website is stored, or any server, computer, or database connected to the website.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE WEBSITE AND ALL CONTENT, FORECASTS, AND SERVICES PROVIDED THROUGH IT ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, NIPPON PREDICT DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that: the website will be available at all times or without interruption; the forecasts will be accurate, reliable, or error-free; defects will be corrected; the website is free of viruses or other harmful components; or the results of using the website will meet your requirements.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL NIPPON PREDICT LLC, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM: YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE WEBSITE; ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE WEBSITE; ANY CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THE WEBSITE; OR UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, WHETHER OR NOT WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.

11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Nippon Predict LLC, its directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: your violation of these Terms; your use of the website; your violation of any third-party right, including without limitation any intellectual property right or privacy right; or any claim that your use of the website caused damage to a third party.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or your use of the website shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Any legal suit, action, or proceeding arising out of or related to these Terms or the website shall be instituted exclusively in the federal or state courts located in King County, Washington. You waive any objection to the laying of venue in any such court and any claim that such venue constitutes an inconvenient forum.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be eliminated or limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
14. Waiver
No waiver of any term or condition set forth in these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or condition or a waiver of any other term or condition. Any failure of Nippon Predict to assert a right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Data Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Nippon Predict regarding your use of the website and supersede all prior and contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations, and warranties, both written and oral.
